Delphie E. Pierce, 97, of Owensboro, Ky.

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Delphie E. Pierce, 97, of Owensboro, Ky. passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Riverside Manor in Calhoun. She was born November 26, 1916 in Neafus, Ky. to the late Elijah and Hattie May Embry. She was a member of River City Church. She was a quilter and an excellent seamstress and cared for many children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ecklis Pierce on November 26, 1997.

Survivors include her son, William M. Pierce (Patricia Ann); daughters, Betty Taylor (Donald, Sr.) and Anna Westerfield (Bob); nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a brother Carl Gary; and sister, Neda Triplett.

Services are 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is in Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphie Pierce Memorial Fund, 3009 Frederica St., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
