Dorothy Rheba Coop Matthews, 88, of Owensboro, Ky.

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Dorothy Rheba Coop Matthews, 88, of Owensboro, Ky. formerly of Louisville, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on March 29, 1926 in Peytonsburg, Ky. to the late Eugene McKinley & Dullie Key Coop. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Matthews on April 23, 2004; two brothers, James and Eugene Coop; and a sister, Glenda Swain.

Survivors include her children, Monie (Becky) Matthews of Louisville, Sheila (Kerry) Wilson of Owensboro, David Matthews of Buffalo, Ky., Mark Matthews of Boston, Mass.; ten grandchildren, Matt (Rita) Wilson, Melissa Wilson, Myron (Meredith) Wilson, Mayerly Wilson, Paola Wilson, Michele (Jeramie) Mattingly, Jonathan Matthews, Katie (Pete) Flaherty, Molly Matthews, Aubrey Matthews; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry (Sharon) Coop of Bowling Green and Archie (Jerri) Coop of Florida.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Private burial is in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
