Steve Elkins, age 64, of Henderson, KY

flowerHENDERSON, Ky. - Steve Elkins, age 64, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 10:39 AM, Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital.

Steve was born October 27, 1948 in Hopkins County, KY to Glen and Sue Elkins. He graduated from Union County High School in 1966 and attended Western Ky University. On August 26, 1967 he married the former Mary Jo Babinski. He was a mine foreman with MAPCO and member of Airline Baptist Church. Before being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1985, you could always find Steve on the golf course. Every day he looked forward to spending time with his grandson, Hayden.

Steve Elkins was preceded in death by his mother Sue Durham Elkins.

Survivors include: Wife of 45 years: Mary Jo Elkins Henderson, KY; 1 Daughter: Buffy House Henderson, KY; 1 Son: Shane Elkins Henderson, KY; Father: Glen Elkins Owensboro, KY; 2 Sisters: Laura Faith Owensboro, KY, Thersa Elkins Jacksonville, FL; 1 Grandson: Hayden Thomas House; Nieces and Nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Steve's Life Celebration from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 2, 2013 and again on Wednesday starting at 10:00 until the service time at Benton Glunt Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at12:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. John Newland officiating.
