Jimmie Dale English, 78, of Hebbardsville, Ky

HENDERSON, Ky. - Jimmie Dale English, 78, of Hebbardsville, Ky passed away at 7:26 AM October 1, 2013 at his home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice after a long battle with cancer.

He was born in Daviess County, Ky on May 10, 1935 to Turner and Lucy (Howard) English. Jim was retired from Alcoa Warrick Division in 1997 after 30 years of service. He attended Fairview General Baptist Church in Bluff City, Ky. Jim was an avid UK fan, collector and loved to work on cars, tractors and lawnmowers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons Jimmie D English Jr in 1961 and Jerry Wayne English in 1962 and 1 brother Jerry English in 1937.

Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years Pat English; 2 children: Anita Holmes and husband Kevin of Somerset, Ky, Anthony Dale English of Hebbardsville; 4 sisters: Betty Newman, Shirley Bailey, Phyllis Howard, Debby Holsing all of Henderson; 4 Grandchildren: Matthew Holmes and wife Tarah of Ashland, Ky, Kathrine Holmes of Somerset, Ky, Samantha English of Henderson, Adam Theodore of Somerset, Ky; 2 Great-grandchildren: Blaize Carter Holmes of Ashland, Ky, Zoey Grace Holmes of Ashland, Ky; Nieces and Nephews.

Services will be 2:00 PM Friday October 4, 2013 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Rev. Dan Book will officiate.

Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Worsham Post #40 at the funeral home.

Visitation will be Thursday 5:30PM -8PM and Friday 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
