Robert L. 'Bob' Davidson, 90 of Henderson, Ky

HENDERSON, Ky. - Robert L. 'Bob' Davidson, 90 of Henderson, Ky passed away Sunday January 12, 2014 at his home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.

He was born in Evansville, IN on September 22, 1923 to the late Ernest Ruell Davidson Sr. and Helen Jane (Wilkerson) Davidson.

Bob was retired as Controller at the Gleaner Newspaper. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He was a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight of Council 1320 and was State Deputy from 1978 to 1980. He was a WWII Marine Veteran, Lifetime member of the Marine Corps League and member of VFW Post 1114 in Evansville, IN.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother; Ernest Ruell Davidson, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 65 Years; Virginia Davidson; 2 sisters; Patricia Wolfe and husband Ernie of Terre Haute, IN, Roseanna Oftedahl and husband Cary of Indianapolis, IN; 2 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Betty and Myrt Pritchett of Henderson, Ky, Fred and Cleo Brown of Henderson, Ky; Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive.

Services will be held at 12:00 Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Henderson. Father Larry McBride will officiate. Burial will be St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson with full military rites by American Legion Worsham Post # 40 of Henderson.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 and Thursday 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Nephews.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church or St. Anthony’s Hospice
