Earl Ray Gaston, 84, of Madisonville, KY

1sunsetHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Earl Ray Gaston, 84, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.

He was born July 18, 1928 in Hopkins Co, KY to the late William Thomas and Emmer Ida Gibson Gaston. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Louise Davis Gaston; two brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Gaston was an Army Veteran, a 32nd Master Mason of Madisonville Masonic Lodge #143 F & AM Scottish Rite, and a Rizpah Shriner. He is also retired from CSX Railroad with 42 years of service.

He is survived by two daughters, Pam (Darrel) Gatlin and Margie (Mike) Rawlins both of Madisonville; one son, Duke (Leslie) Gaston of Madisonville; three grandchildren, Haley Gatlin of Lexington, KY, Isaac Gaston and Claude Gaston both of Madisonville.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Sisk officiating. Entombment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 19, 2013 and after 11:00 A.M. until the service time on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Duke Gaston, Darrel Gatlin, Mike Rawlins, Joe Wiles, Pam Gatlin, Margie Rawlins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Haley Gatlin, Isaac Gaston, and Claude Gaston.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to Shriner's Children Hospital. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
