Barbara Jean Smith, 71, of Madisonville, KY

sunrise1HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Barbara Jean Smith, 71, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 7:55 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

She was born on November 22, 1941 in Slaughters, KY to the late Margaret Gipson Sutton and Thomas Sutton. She was a homemaker and devoted mother to her children and family. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Randall Basham; her second husband, Roy Smith and her sister, Gail Love.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Beverly) Basham of Earlington, KY, James (Sharon) Basham of Mortons Gap, KY, Larry (Kim) Basham, Quinton Basham both of Madisonville and Sammy Basham of Sebree, KY; her daughter, Barbara Wilham of Madisonville; her sister, Eva (Charles) Downs of Slaughters; her brothers, Stevie (Carolyn) Sutton of Slaughters, Thomas Harlin Sutton of Beaumont, TX and Michael Ray Sutton of Anton, KY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. J.D. Holt officiating. Burial to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday and from noon until the funeral hour Sunday at Harris Funeral Home.
