James Randell Melton, 72

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - James Randell Melton, 72, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.

He was born December 17, 1940 in Hopkins Co, KY to the late Oscar Fred Melton and Jenevee Mullen Melton. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Richard Lynn Melton.

Mr. Melton was a member of Richland Baptist Church and a truck driver for Hopkins County.

He is survived by his sister, Brenda (William) Eaves of Madisonville; one great nephew, Craig Melton of Madisonville and one great great nephew, Sean Melton of Madisonville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Landtrip officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery in White Plains, KY.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 and after 11:00 a.m. until the service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Richland Baptist Church Youth Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
