Frank J. Kowalkowski, Jr., CSM, 77, of Madisonville, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Frank J. Kowalkowski, Jr., CSM, 77, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.

He was born October 12, 1935 in Fort Bliss, TX to the late Frank Kowalkowski, Sr. and Vivian Renfro Kowalkowski. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John C. Kowalkowski and Ricky Reed.

Mr. Kowalkowski was a member of the Abundant Grace Fellowship Church in Madisonville. He served three tours in Germany and two tours in Vietnam and retired from the US Army as a Command Sergeant Major after 22 years of active duty. He was a retired after 30 plus years of service from Bellsouth as an outside Plant Engineer. He loved doing anything in his church.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Linda Kowalkowski of Madisonville; daughter, Kimberly R. Kowalkowski Beraun of Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Abundant Grace Fellowship Church in Madisonville with Rev. Phil Sullivan officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Odd Fellows Cemetery on Monday, October 7, 2013 with full military rites conducted by Fort Campbell.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Saturday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Abundant Grace Fellowship Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
