Billy Ray Shaw, 80, of Madisonville, KY

SHAWHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Billy Ray Shaw, 80, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Saturday, No-vember 2, 2013 at his home. Shaw will be loved and missed by many.

He was born on June 26, 1933 in Sanford, NC to the late Charlie Lawrence Shaw and Flora Frances McManus Shaw. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was formerly a coal miner at Grapevine, Dekvan II and Busick Mines. He also worked at Kentucky Department of Mines and Minerals as a retired supervisor. He was a member of McIntosh Chapel in Mannington, KY.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Clyda Marie Gunn Shaw; his sisters, Helen Boone and Louise Gembler.

He is survived by his son, Timmy Denton of Mannington, KY; his sister, Barbara Davis of Sanford, NC; his brother, Jerry Shaw of Vancleave MS; his grandchildren, Cody Denton, Brianna Denton, Katie Denton, Domonica Acord; his great-grandchildren, Madalyn Acord and Jackson Denton; several nieces and nephews; caregivers, Joy Taylor, Tina Dame, Janet Reasor and Troy Dame all of Madisonville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Pastor Charlie Spears officiating. Military rites will be conducted graveside by 101st Airborne Division and Hopkins County Honor Guard. Burial to follow in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Donovan Dame, Cody Denton, James Brewer, Larry Dame, Clay Solise, Jimmy Brewer, Chase Dame and Willis Hoffman.

Memorial contributions may be made to McIntosh Chapel Building fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
