James Allen Turner, 53, of Madisonville, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - James Allen Turner, 53, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at his residence.

He was born April 10, 1960 in Madisonville to Gene Allen Turner and Reda Inez Turner.

Mr. Turner was a Boy Scout leader and a volunteer for the Manitou Fire Dept. for 27 years.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Gwen Turner of Madisonville; one daughter, Shanna Turner of Madisonville; two sons, Justin Turner of Sacramento, KY and Jared Turner of Madisonville; one sister, Martha Parker of Madisonville and one brother, Lyndle Turner of Madisonville.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. James R. Messamore officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Church Cemetery in Manitou.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jared Turner, Justin Turner, Lyndle Turner, Jeremy Turner, Billy Poe and Tim Gordon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the James Turner Memorial Fund c/o Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. Envelopes are will be available at the funeral home.
