HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Raymond Wayne Hamby, age 76, of Dawson Springs, Ky, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at his residence in Dawson Springs, Ky. Mr. Hamby was born on July 1, 1937 in Dawson Springs, Ky to the late Albert Hershel Hamby and Martha Grace Dearing Hamby. He was retired after working 39 years with both the L& N and the CSX Railroads. Mr. Hamby was a 1955 graduate of Dawson Springs High School, a member of the First Baptist Church, Dawson Springs, Ky, and he was an avid golfer.

Mr. Hamby is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law ~ Janet (Joe) Dunbar of Dawson Springs, Ky, Teresa (Frank) Smeeks of Greenville, SC; a son ~ David (Angel) Hamby of Carol Stream, IL; two sisters~ Chloe Alexander of Evansville, IN, and Marie Toler of TX; and eight grandchildren~ Jennifer Dunbar, Jason Dunbar, Jessica Smeeks, Chase Smeeks, Jaime Dunn, Emmily Hamby, Jodie Hamby, Hamby Marquez.

Preceding Mr. Hamby in death are his parents; his wife ~ Betty Lou McCord Hamby 11-20-2008, and a sister~ Agnes Howton.

Visitation for Mr. Raymond Wayne Hamby will be from 9:00 a.m.  until 11:00 a.m.  on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, Ky. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m.  on Saturday, December 14, 2013 with Rev. Jason Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, Dawson Springs, Ky.

Pallbearers will be Mike Young, Jeremy McCord, Virgil Cooper, Bradley McCord, Jim Haulk, Ty Dunn, Mark Taylor, and Philip Bruce.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to:
First Baptist Church Building Fund, 960 Industrial Park Rd., Dawson Springs, Ky 42408; and/or Marion Baptist Family Life Center, 131 E. Depot St., Marion, Ky 42064.
