Jerry J. Higgins, 74, of Madisonville, Ky

MADISONVILLE, Ky (3/7/14) — Jerry J. Higgins, 74, of Madisonville, KY, passed away at 4:10 P.M. EST Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the UK Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, KY.

She was born December 19, 1939 the daughter of the late Floyd Glover and Daisy Bennett Glover. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter E. "Eddie" Higgins and two sisters; Barbara Colene Cluck and Patricia Kohutek.

Jerry was a Registered Nurse having worked at Regional Medical Center and retired from the Western KY Veterans Center in Hanson. In addition to spending time with her family, she also enjoyed reading, quilting, crocheting and traveling.

Jerry is survived by one daughter, Michele (Alex) Wiseman of Denver, CO.; and two sons, Walter (Misty) Higgins of Lexington, KY; Timothy (Eleanore Meade) Higgins of Park Ridge, IL; five sisters, Kathryn Fox of Madisonville; Zetta Lee Noga of Lincoln, CA; Joyce Glass of Versailles, KY; Tina Ford of Bowling Green, KY; Floyedith Stills of Dixon, KY; and one brother, Cleatus "Sparky" Glover of Columbus, OH; grandchildren Connor Wiseman, Hayden Wiseman and Lillian Higgins; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of your choice, the American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home for your convenience.
