Ruth 'Willodean' McGregor Key, 87, of Dawson Springs, Ky.

DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. – Ruth “Willodean” McGregor Key, 87, of Dawson Springs, Ky., passed away on Monday, June30, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. Ms. Key was born on September 17, 1926 in Caldwell County, Ky to the late Dennis and Nina Louise Miller McGregor. Ms. Key worked in nursing homes for many years and also as a circulating nurse in the operating room at Hopkins County Hospital. Since age 13 she was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

Ms. Key was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Texil Cummings; a son, Texil Cummings, Jr. and a sister, Doris Sue Dunn.

Ms. Key is survived by two daughters, Nina Lee (Blake) Creasey of Princeton, Ky. and Carol Ann (Joseph) Keller of Dawson Springs, Ky.; two sisters, Mary Tylene Newman of Providence, Ky. and Hazel Ann Dearing of Princeton, Ky.; three brothers, Dennis McGregor of Dawson Springs, Ky., Donald McGregor and Roger McGregor both of Princeton, Ky.; grandchildren, Jessica Keller, Lindsey Morgan and Jason Jones; and one great-grandson, Austin Jones.

 

Visitation for Ms. Ruth “Willodean” McGregor Key will be on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, Ky. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Felker officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, Ky.

Active pallbearers will be Josh Morgan, Jason Jones, Austin Jones, Phillip Rickard, Willie Orlando McGregor and Javan McGregor. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Keller, Blake Creasey and Dono McGregor.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to:
