Charles William (Bill) Smith, age 90, of Eddyville, Ky

EDDYVILLE, Ky. - Charles William (Bill) Smith, age 90, of Eddyville, Ky passed away Monday, September 23 at Baptist Health in Paducah. He was a retired ironworker, an Army Air Force veteran, and a member of First Baptist Church Eddyville.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Edwina Rice Smith, Eddyville, KY; two sons, Charles W. Smith Jr. & wife Darlene, Las Vegas. NV and David A. Smith & wife, Linda, Las Vegas, NV; one brother Eugene Franklin Smith, Lyon Co., KY; six grandchildren, Charles W. Smith III & wife Lorna, Sequim, WA, Lisa M VanHarrevelt & husband Stephen, Las Vegas, NV, David Cheney & wife, Jeanette, Colorado Springs CO, Vicki Morgan & husband Kevin, Colorado Springs, CO, Eric Rowland & wife Angie, Las Vegas, NV and Christy Johnson, Las Vegas, NV; and twelve great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Franklin Smith and Willie Tylene Chandler Smith, one daughter Sue Ellen Cheney and two brothers, Ralph Smith and Phillip Smith.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 26, from 5 to 8 p.m.  at Lakeland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m.  at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Perdue officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Oak Cemetery in Lyon County.
