Christine 'Chris' Sutt, 67, of Gilbertsville, Ky

BENTON, Ky. - Christine 'Chris' Sutt, 67, of Gilbertsville, Ky, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013. Mrs. Sutt was born in Trenton, New Jersey. She and her husband, Warren Sutt, also of New Jersey, moved to Calvert City in 1976, where she taught first grade at Calvert City Elementary School for 27 years. Her family believes her legacy will live on for many years to come through the generations of students she taught. She would frequently remark she was proud to be teaching the son or daughter of one of her former students.

Mrs. Sutt was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Catherine Hansen, and one sister Ellen Hansen Underhill. Mrs. Sutt is survived by her husband Warren Sutt; her daughter Jessica Sutt Green (Tony), granddaughters Morgan and Rachel Green all of Lexington, Ky; her son Dr. Erik Sutt (Sarah Bible) of Harrisonburg, Virginia; and one sister Karen Gandy of Boonton, New Jersey.

Since retiring in 2007, Chris and Warren have enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, relaxing at their house on Ky Lake, walking the beaches of Long Beach Island, and spending time with their two grown children and granddaughters.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2013, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th St, Benton, Ky.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital: web www.stjude.org; phone 1-800-873-6983 or mail St. Jude Holiday Card Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
