LEXINGTON, Ky. - Richard Harding (Dick) Hall, 91, of Lexington, KY passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center.
He owned and operated Ashland Oil Service Stations in Lexington for 43 years.
A native of Mayking, KY, he was the son of Isom and Ellen Philpot Hall. He coached the Colts Baseball team in the Thoroughbred League at Garden Springs Park for 15 years. An avid Bass fisherman, he was a member of the Thoroughbred Bass Club. He enjoyed golf and was a fan of UK football and basketball. Dick touched the lives of many young people with whom he came in contact.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years, Julia Yanoska Hall; a son, Richard (Connie) Hall, Jr; sisters, Hattie Wells and Wanda Street; a granddaughter, Stacey Duncan and great-grandchildren, Brody Tate Duncan, Easton Bryce Duncan and Harper Sage Duncan.
Funeral mass will be conducted at 10 am Wednesday at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with interment in Lexington Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday at Milward-Southland.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, Hospice of the Bluegrass or Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Church.
