LEXINGTON, Ky. - Dr. Elizabeth Amelia (Mimi) Hellebusch, 77, passed away Thurs. June 13, 2013. Born in Owensboro, KY she was the daughter of Kaye Stroud and Hortense Moore Harris. Dr. Hellebusch was a graduate of Nazareth College, currently Spalding University; she received her masters at the University of KY, and her PhD. at the University of Cincinnati. She was a teacher for thirty years in the state of KY. She also was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church where she participated in Daughters of the King.
Survivors include children; Arthur Atherton Hellebusch II, his wife Jan, of Lexington, Nell Elizabeth Hellebusch of Lexington, and Matthew Stroud Hellebusch, his wife Annamarie, of Wyndmoor, PA; seven grandchildren, Arthur A. Hellebusch III, his wife Ashley, Stuart H. Hellebusch, his wife MaryEvan, Forrest M. Hellebusch, David Mark Parker, Alexander G. Parker, Morgan B. Hellebusch, and Grace Elizabeth Hellebusch; one great grandchild, Courtney Marie Hellebusch; and her dear friend, Christina Bennett.
She was preceded in death by Dr. Arthur A. Hellebusch, her parents and her step-father Forrest Moses Harris.
A funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
