LEXINGTON, Ky. - Jack Royse, 87, beloved husband of Barbara M. Royse, passed away Sat July 6, 2013. Born in Lexington, he was the son of the late Homer and Noma R. Royse. Jack served in the United States Navy. A graduate from UK with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, and he remained an avid wildcat fan. He worked at KY Utilities for thirty six years, and retired as Chief Transmission Engineer. Over his life he enjoyed ping pong and bowling. He was also known as the Candy Man at Heritage Baptist Church.
His survivors other than his wife include four children, Everett (Dana) Royse, Edie (Leon) Huffman, Jack (Karen) Royse and Beverly (Mike) Cooper; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three step children, Radford (Jackie), Barrett (Deborah) and Della Rae Riggs; seven step grandchildren; and two sisters, Joan and Claudette.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Ann Henry Royse, and his second wife, Mary Patricia Darnaby Royse.
A funeral service will be held 2pm Wed at Heritage Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tues from 5-8pm at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Main St. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
