Sylvia M. Herpel, 94 of Paducah, Ky

5sunsetPADUCAH, Ky. - Sylvia M. Herpel, 94 of Paducah, Ky passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 10:35 a.m. at Lourdes Hospital. Sylvia was a member of Highpoint Pentecostal Church. She formerly worked as a machine operator at Normandy Frocks Dress Factory and at the M. Fine Shirt factory. She loved to sew and especially embroidery .

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Stephens of West Paducah, KY and Sue Phillips of Paducah, KY; five grandchildren, Mona Lax of NC, Roger Phillips and wife Lori of Kevil, KY, Renada York and husband Mitch of Benton, KY, Teresa Smith and husband Tim of LaCenter, KY, and Melissa McGowan and husband Bob of Paducah, KY, six great-grandchildren, Jennie Harmon, Rachel Lax, Andrea Fagan, Zac Smith, Becca Smith and Samuel Smith, Two step-great grandchildren, Kevin McGowan and Chandler McGowan.

Preceding in death was her first husband, Paul Sherron, second husband, James “Jim” Herpel, parents, Clarence & Jennie Hall Thompson, one grand-son, Dewayne Crane and two brothers, Houston Thompson and Dafton Thompson.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Palestine Cemetery in West Paducah, KY with Revs. Doug Stevens and Tim Smith officiating. Friends may call on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Expression of sympathy may be made to Highpoint Pentecostal Church, Noble Road, Paducah, KY 42001.
