Kate Rudy Emery, of Paducah, Ky

2flowerPADUCAH, Ky. - Kate Rudy Emery, of Paducah, Ky passed away Friday, July, 5, 2013 at Baptist Health of Paducah.

Mrs. Emery was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was a choir member and served as a church elder. She was an avid musician who loved to play the harp, and stupassed away opera in New York. Mrs. Emery attended St. Mary’s Academy before transferring to Salem Academy in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She graduated from Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and she was a Murray State Graduate where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

She is survived by her daughter Caroline Emery Barr, and husband Robert of Paducah; her son Lloyd Coleman Emery III and wife Terry of Gilbertsville; six grandchildren, Justin McNeill, Lauren Emery, William Barr, Kathleen Byczek, Nancy Kate Barr, Hannah Emery; and two great grandchildren, Emery Byczek, and Eli Byczek.

She was preceded in death by her parents William Harvey Rudy, and Caroline Marie Agee Rudy; and she was married to the late Judge Lloyd Coleman Emery II. Her grandfather James Augustus Rudy, her father, and her uncle, James Henry Rudy were the owners of J.A. Rudy & Sons Dry Goods Store, Paducah in the 1920's and the 1930's.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July, 9, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lynn Shurley officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery.
