Edith Ford Denton

orangeskytreePADUCAH, Ky. - Edith Ford Denton, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, one day before her 84th birthday, at Baptist Health in Paducah.

She was a lifelong member of Bardwell Baptist Church and a resident of Bardwell most of her adult life. She graduated from Bardwell High School in 1947 and married her husband of 64 years, Billy W. Denton, that same year. Mrs. Denton worked for a short time for the Ky Department of Human Resources in Bardwell and also the Carlisle County Journal newspaper.

She is survived by one daughter, Sherri Hall and husband Bill of Arlington; son, Steve Denton and wife Debra of Clarksville, TN; four grandchildren, Mandy Gruber and husband Darren of Bardwell, Brian Denton and wife Shelley of Mt. Juliet, TN, Jay Hall and fiancé Elisha Wooten of Arlington and Sam Denton of Columbus, KY; five great grandchildren; sister, Mildred Clayton of Bardwell; two nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Nettie Adair Ford; husband, Billy W. Denton; brother, Craig Ford and one niece.

Funeral services for Edith Ford Denton will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Bro. David Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery in Bardwell. Friends may call after 10:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.
