Howard Sims, 86 of Cunningham

obit19PADUCAH, Ky. - Howard Sims, 86 of Cunningham passed away at 7:19am on Monday August 19, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Sims was born September 1, 1926 in Kirbyton, KY to the late Will C. and Geraldine Maxon Sims. Mr. Sims was retired from TVA Shawnee Steam Plant after 30 years. He also was a disabled veteran from world war two, in which he was corporal for the army medical unit. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Cunningham, a Mason of the Bardwell Lodge #499 for fifty years, and a Teamsters Union member.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-two years, Maude DeJarnatt Sims, two daughters; Libby Keller and Husband Bradley of Paducah, and Valerie Davis and Husband Clint of Bardwell, two Grandchildren; Whitney Keller of Paducah, and Taylor Davis of Bardwell, and two nieces of Granite City, Il.

Also preceding Mr. Sims in death was one sister, Dorothy Werner, and one brother, Jesse Sims.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00pm Wednesday August 21, 2013 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Masonic rites at 7:00pm. The funeral service will be 2:00pm Thursday August 22, 2013 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell. Dr. Bill Mason, Rev. David Hardy, and Rev. Glen Stewart will Officiate. Burial and military honors will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Carlisle County. Expressions of Sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105, or Kosair Charities 982 Eastern Parkway P.O. Box 37370 Louisville, KY 40233.
