Bobby Dean Butler, 77, of Paducah, Ky

orangeskytreePADUCAH, Ky. - Bobby Dean Butler, 77, of Paducah, Ky passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at his home.

Bobby was born in Dresden, TN on November 7, 1935 to the late John Calvin Butler and Betty Lucille Smothers Butler. He was the owner and operator of B. Butler and Sons Construction until his retirement in 1999 and was a trusted, respected and highly skilled Concrete Contractor. He was a member of Associated General Contractors from 1964-1999. A longtime member of Hendron Lions Club, Bobby was past president and a faithful member until his health prevented his attendance. He attended Northside Church of God.

Bobby was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Joann Gills Butler, to whom he married on December 18, 1951; a daughter, Deborah Kay Butler Collier of Paducah; two sons, Michael Dean Butler and wife Paula and Timothy David Butler and wife Caroline all of Paducah. He was known as “Pappaw” to his beloved grandchildren, J.J. Collier, Katherine Butler, Tiffany Butler, Emily Butler Upchurch, and JoAnna Butler; seven great-grandchildren, Montana Collier McGregor, Kayleigh Collier, Kyler Collier, Bobby Collier, Lola Collier, Keaton Upchurch, and Konnor Upchurch; and three great-great grandchildren, Cory, Ian and Savannah McGregor.

Preceding him in death were two siblings, Pauline Butler Hayes and Billy Gene Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday at Lone Oak Chapel-Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Yates officiating. Burial will follow at Brooks Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
