Helen Lynn Hagan Thurston, 62, of Melber, KY

obit2PADUCAH, Ky. - Helen Lynn Hagan Thurston, 62, of Melber, KY was ushered by angels into the presence of her LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 1:50 am at Baptist Health-Paducah with loved ones at her side.

She was born on January 29, 1951 in Peoria, IL to the late John Norman Hagan and the late Beverly Jean Berry Hagan. Lynn was a born again believer and made Jesus Christ Lord of her life on August 14, 2007. She is of the Baptist faith and worshipped at New Concord Baptist Church in Melber.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Schmitt of Providence, KY and Jill Schmitt of Melber, KY; a sister, Sheila Frederick of Drummond, OK; a half-brother, John D. Wright of Florida; seven grandchildren, Brandon and Raven Simpson, Kevin E. Dowdy, Jr., Autumn Dowdy, Cody, Tyler and Emma Halstead; three aunts, Reva Hagan, Wilma Kilcoyne and Robbie Gomer; one uncle, Robert Crotzer; one niece, Jessica Ransom; and many cousins.

Preceding her in death were her husband, David L. Thurston; her parents and a baby sister.

Memorial services will be held at 11am Saturday at New Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Joe McKee and Rev. John Hagan officiating. Visitation will begin at 10am Saturday at the church.
