obit-sunrisetreeMUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. - Billy E. McKinney, 80, formerly of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013 in Nashville, TN. The Muhlenberg County native was a graduate of Drakesboro High School and Western Kentucky University. He worked for the Logan County School system for many years and during that time served as principal of Lewisburg High School and Title I administrator. Bill also served on the Board of Directors of Lewisburg Banking Company and was Chairman of the Board for many years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He also enjoyed many years of membership in the Lions Club and Masonic Lodge.

Bill was the son of the late Carl and Mary Wilson McKinney, and husband of the late Gwyneth Jones McKinney. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Graveside funeral services will be Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 2:30PM at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Lewisburg, with Rev. Ronnie Forrest officiating. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 954 Stacker Street, Lewisburg, KY 42256 or the charity of one's choice.

Survivors include two daughters, Beth McKinney of Bowling Green and Melissa McKinney of Nashville; two brothers, Paul McKinney of Drakesboro and John McKinney of Scottsville; and several nieces and nephews.
