Lawrence (Scooty) Edward Bowman II, 42, of Central City, Ky.

bibbs7-2MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. — Lawrence (Scooty) Edward Bowman II, 42, of Central City, Ky., passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, 1:13 a.m. at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville, Ky.

He was born August 9, 1971 in Oak Ridge, Tenn. to Lawrence and Patricia Bowman.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vivian Rhea Bowman.

He professed Christ at the age of 8 years old and has been a member of First Missionary Baptist Church since his profession. He was a coal miner, Hot Mill Operator, and served his country proudly by joining the Navy. He had a wonderful disposition and kept us all in good spirits, no matter what he was going through. He loved his wife, son, and his family.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Gina Bowman, Central City; one son, Patrick Lawrence Bowman, Central City; father, Lawrence Edward Bowman, Greenville, Ky.; mother, Patricia Bowman, Greenville, Ky.; two sisters, Chanelle Bowman, Greenville, Ky. and Kortny Bowman, Louisville, Ky. ; a niece, Amanda Pollard, Greenville; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 5, 2014, 3:00, at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 209 Oak Street, in Greenville, Ky. Rev. Terrence Minor, officiating. Visitation will be 1-3 Saturday at the church.

Bibbs Funeral Home, Greenville, is in charge of arrangements.
