BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Wanda Faye Sherry Thomas, 74, of Bowling Green, KY passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 9:32 a.m. in Bowling Green.
She was born September 25, 1938 in Roundhill, Kentucky to the late Ralph and Orangie Rather Sherry. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Betty Kinser and a brother: Duard Sherry. She was an Executive Secretary for the Federal Crop Insurance and later worked for the IRS. She was a member of the Forest Park Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Goshen 198.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years: James Edward Thomas Sr. of Bowling Green; her two sons: Jimmy Thomas and wife Terri of Woodburn and Fred Thomas and wife Karen of Alvaton; her grandchildren: Kristina Wimpee (Daniel), Amber Steff (Rodney), Jamie Miller (Quentin), and Adam Thomas; her five great grandchildren: Caleb, Caitlyn, Danika, Lucas & Caroline; her sister: Jean Lashlee of Bowling Green and a half-sister Nell Sherry of Arizona.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Eastern Star Service will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel.
