BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Donnie Miller, 76, of Rockfield, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at his residence. The Bowling Green native was born July 15, 1936, a son of the late Willie Miller and Edna Lee Miller McCoy. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas "Wayne" Miller, grandson, Chad Turner and his step-father, J. B. Mc Coy. He was a graduate of Bristow High School; the Service Manager for Embry Trucking Services and a nine year member of the National Guard. Mr. Miller attended Broadway United Methodist Church and was recently baptized at Calvary Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and father of three beautiful daughters.
Survivors include three daughters, Lori Hanson (Coy) of Bowling Green, Jan Montgomery (Ed) of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and Heather Wilson (Michael) of Bowling Green; one sister, Jo Nell Wheeler of Roswell, Georgia; five grandchildren, Dustin Turner (Crystal) of Bowling Green, Emily Conner (Kyle) of Suffolk, Virginia, Addie Montgomery of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Ellie and Reese Wilson of Bowling Green; one great grandchild, Allie Turner of Bowling Green and Daisy Miller, his faithful dog of Rockfield. A thank you to everyone who brought food, mowed the yard, sent cards and made constant calls. Also a thank you to Dr. Moots and Dr. Weaver in Vanderbilt.
Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM Monday, June 17 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home and again from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. The funeral will be 2 PM Tuesday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of donations to the Humane Society or the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center.
