BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Mary L. (Granny) Cox, 80, of Rockfield, KY, passed away at 8:56 pm, Monday, July 22, 2013 at The Colonial Center in Bowling Green. The Woodburn, KY native was born March 30, 1933, a daughter of the late Leslie "Les" and Bessie Ward Barrow. Mary and her husband, Floyd Cox, were married on August 2, 1950 and he passed away in August, 1981.
She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan and Donald. Mary worked at Holley Carburetor until its closure and then moved to DESA International where she worked thirty-two years until her retirement. She loved living on the farm and enjoyed raising chickens, caring for her dogs and her parrot.
Survivors include two daughters, Georgia (James ) Towe of Morgantown, KY and Linda (Jimmy) Gregory of Zeigler, IL; three grandchildren, David Cox, Jamie Towe, and Aaron Towe; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred (Dorothy) Barrow of Rockfield, KY and James (Wanda) Barrow of Portland, TN.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, July 26th, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 25th, 2013 and 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. on Friday, July 26th, 2013.
