BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Elise Talmage Lieb of Bowling Green, Ky born in 1922 in New Orleans, passed away Dec. 8 , 2013, with her daughter, Flora, by her side. Elise was a remarkable woman. She was a real estate broker, poet, writer and holds the distinction as the first female real estate broker to open her own office in Bowling Green. As a prolific writer, she filled her library with stories of the South. A Southern lady, she fought for equality and peace in the world long before her time. Ms. Lieb paved the way for women while helping the poor and those in need. Many remember her kindness to strangers and anyone crossing her path.
She is survived by daughters Flora Templeton Stuart and Katherine Van Wormer, along with stepson David Reed. She is proud of grandchildren, Natalie Talmage Moorcroft, Flora Van Wormer, Rupert Van Wormer, Elise Stuart Iannuzzi and Maria Stuart Iannuzzi. She treasured her great-grandchildren, Journey Moorcroft, Jazmyn Moorcroft, Zavier Moorcroft and Heshel Van Wormer.
Visitation will be at The Presbyterian Church on State Street in Bowling Green from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Her life will be celebrated at the church in a service at 1 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bowling Green Noon Lion’s Club are appreciated. Donations can be made by cash, check or money order (to BG Lion’s) at the church or mailed to 607 E 10th Ave., Bowling Green.
