WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. - Vernon Ray Whitledge 84 of Clay, KY passed away Thursday August 29, 2013 at 10:34 AM at Shemwell Nursing Home in Providence, KY.
He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Webster County Coal , Dotiki Mine in 1991. Throughout his coal mining career he also was a lifelong farmer.
He was preceded in death his wife of 58 years Louie Earl Whitledge, a son Douglas Waide Whitledge, a daughter Faith Elaine Owens, a granddaughter Kymberli Danai McKeehan, a great grandson Conner Clark Whitledge, his parents Verris Vernon and Lillian Mae (Threlkeld) Whitledge.
Survivors include 2 daughters Mandy Spencer and her husband Shane of Clay, KY., and Ann Hill and her husband Joe Mack of Beaver Dam, KY. 2 Sons Wayne Whitledge of Clay, KY and Walter Whitledge and his wife Marcia of Clay, KY with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday August 30, 2013 1:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, KY with Bro. Clifton Vandiver officiating and burial to follow in White Oak Cemetery in Clay, KY.
Friends may call Friday from 11:00 AM til service time at the funeral home.
