Montie Duane Melton, 63, of Slaughters, Ky.

montie meltonSLAUGHTERS, Ky. – Montie Duane Melton, 63, of Slaughters, Ky. passed away Friday afternoon at Baptist Health in Madisonville, Ky.

He was born in Slaughters, Ky. on December 6, 1950 to Hank and Joetta (Crowley) Melton. He was a retired coal miner. Montie was a member of Slaughters Baptist Church, an avid hunter and fisherman and UK Basketball fan.

He was preceded in death by his father Hank Melton in 2006.

He is survived by a son, Bryce Melton of Slaughters, Ky.; mother, Joetta (Crowley) Melton of Slaughters, Ky.; granddaughter, Brynn Melton of Slaughters, Ky.; brothers, Steve (Gayle) Melton of Slaughters, Ky., John (Cindy) Melton of Slaughters, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday June 30, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel. Bro Alan Todd will officiate. Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 and Monday 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Melton, Nolan Melton, Jonathan Melton, Tyler Hedrick, Larry Warren and David Warren.
