Jonell (Bethel) Skaggs, 90, of Madisonville, Ky.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. – Jonell (Bethel) Skaggs, 90, of Madisonville, Ky. passed away Saturday August 16, 2014 at the NHC Nursing Home in Madisonville.

She was born in Muhlenberg County, Ky. on February 26, 1924 to the late Jacob I. and Bertha Mae (Hancock) Bethel. She was a nurse’s aide at Muhlenberg Community Hospital for 12 years and Regional Medical Center for 28 years. She was of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Leroy Calvin Skaggs of Clay, Ky.; son, Jerry Skaggs of Clay, Ky.; grandson, Joey Skaggs of Bowling Green, Ky.; and two great granddaughters, Lydia and Reagan Skaggs.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday August 20, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel. Rev. Larry Phaup will officiate. Burial will be in Onton Cemetery in Onton, Ky. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
