MADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/18/14) — The Madisonville Miners faced off against the Dubois County Bombers at Elmer Kelley Stadium for a crowd of 233 on Friday night.
One run in the top of the first inning established an early lead for the Bombers.
Dubois County increased their lead with two more runs in the top of the second. The Miners responded with one run in the bottom of the inning, bringing the score to 3-1.
The Miners scored again in the bottom of the third inning, decreasing the Bombers' lead to 3-2. Neither team scored in the fourth or fifth.
The Bombers scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning, increasing their lead to 6-2. A single run by the Miners in the bottom of the sixth narrowed the gap slightly to 6-3.
A hit in the bottom of the seventh brought in a run for the Miners, narrowing the gap to 6-4 in favor of the Bombers.
The Bombers scored three runs in the top of the ninth, claiming a final 9-4 victory over the Miners.
