DSC 0844MADISONVILLE,  Ky. (7/20/14) — Madisonville Miners took on the Owensboro Oilers at Elmer Kelley Stadium Sunday July 20.

The Oilers led off with two runs in the top of the first inning, which the Miners answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first, tying the score at 2-2.

The Oilers scored two more runs in the top of the second. The Miners scored once in the bottom, affording the Oilers a 4-3 lead.

Two more runs for Owensboro in the top of the fifth inning increased their lead to 6-3.

A double by the Oilers with bases loaded brought in three runs in the top of the sixth, bringing the score to 9-3.

The Miners rallied in the bottom of the eighth, bringing in a total of five runs, including three off a double by Cory Finkler, to close the gap to 9-8.

The Oilers scored a single run in the top of the ninth, bringing the final score to 10-8 Oilers over Miners.
