MADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/25/14) — The Madisonville Miners challenged the Owensboro Oilers at Elmer Kelley Stadium July 24 in the second game of the Ohio Valley League Playoffs for a crowd of 127.
The Miners took an early lead over the Oilers with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, establishing a 2-0 score.
Owensboro scored in the top of the third and again in the top of the sixth to tie the score 2-2.
The game remained tied at the bottom of the ninth, sending the game into extra innings.
The Oilers brought home a runner on a double in the top of the eleventh inning, then a second on a passed ball, securing a 4-2 victory over the Miners.
The Miners will take on the Oilers again tomorrow, July 25, at Apollo High School in Owensboro as playoffs continue.
