Madisonville's Annual Dust Bowl Tournament 2014 - Hosted by 'Light of Chance'

dustMADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/29/14) — Light of Chance, Inc. will host 'The 2014 Dust Bowl Basketball Tournament' at Dr. Festus Claybon Park, Hopewell St., Madisonville, Ky. August 1 - 3.

The Dust Bowl presents a large-scale series of games with children high school age to adults.

The music, food, giveaways and competition engages the community and their families of any age to have a wonderful time while preparing for the new school year.

The annual event not only features exhilarating competition through the game itself, but also provides back to school supplies, haircuts and hair do's. By presenting a dynamic and positive atmosphere through these highlights, Light of Chance has created a classic summertime tradition highly anticipated by many.

Six years ago, Light of Chance took over the community tradition and has thus aimed to provide Madisonville an entertaining three-day event. Beginning with free admission, a visitor is expected to receive a constant supply of fun and excitement.

The basketball games start at 7 p.m. Friday Aug 1 and the fun continues through Sunday with the accompaniment of music and food. Sunday wraps up the event with free back to school supply handouts and haircuts for the children. To bring an absolute greater good to the community is the goal for Light of Chance, and through the three days of the Dust Bowl, the organization is able to accomplish that goal. With past success, the organization has seen visitor turnout from multiple states.

The entry fee is $200 for each team and each team will be guaranteed to play at least 3 games. All fees are due the day of the event. All proceeds will benefit the Light of Chance, Inc. non-profit organization.

About Light of Chance:

Light of Chance aspires to serve youth and the community through innovative arts and wellness programs. The non-profit uses the tournament as a platform to further aid visitors to reflect the organizations purpose: to bring family and community closer together through building health awareness and assisting families with back to school haircuts and school supplies.
