Pedley’s Predictions: Tonight Sets the Stage for ‘Huge Showdown’

basic football1 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/30/13) – This week could potentially set up a huge showdown for City-County Championship next week. The Owensboro Red Devils will take on the Apollo Eagles, while the Daviess County Panthers will battle against the Owensboro Catholic Aces.

Last week the Red Devils and the Aces ran away with large victories. The Aces won 45-6 over the Eagles, while the Devils pulled away 42-24 at the Daviess County. If both OC and OHS win tonight, next week’s game would decide the City-County winner.

Predictions
Apollo will have a hard time keeping up with Owensboro’s speed. But the game will be closer than anticipated. Apollo will battle hard but Owensboro will score late to seal the game. If Apollo contains Owensboro speed they could steal this game.

Apollo 14 – Owensboro 28

The Panthers will have quite the up-hill battle against the Aces today. Last week their own mistakes cost DC plenty of points. They will also be without Head Coach Marcus Kimbrell for the next 3 weeks, which could hurt against the Aces. Owensboro Catholic might run away again tonight, if they get in a rhythm. Daviess County will have to use their team speed and play smart to keep the game close.

Daviess County 10 – Owensboro Catholic 42
