OWENSBORO, Ky (10/8/13) – The Aces will make the short trip to Hancock County Friday to take on the Hornets. These teams have had a rivalry since the late 90s, and regardless of the record games between these two teams are always competitive.
Owensboro Catholic blanked the Rebels from Todd County last week to improve their record to 4 – 2 and 2 – 0 in their district. While Hancock County's record is 1 – 6, they are 1 – 1 in the district and have been competitive in all their losses. The Hornets only win came last week when they defeated McLean County 34 – 24.
The Aces will have to execute great plays again this week to beat the Hornets. Aces Head Football Coach John Edge pointed out it's always difficult to win at Hancock.
"What adds to this rivalry now is the fact it's a district game. Whoever wins this game will be in the driver seat for the district championship," Edge said.
The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. at Hancock County High School.
