football hand_300OWENSBORO, Ky. (10/12/13) – Friday night Owensboro Red Devils got back to their winnings ways, dominating Calloway County with the final score of 57 – 7. Owensboro moves to 6 – 2, while the Lakers fall to 4 – 3.

Owensboro did exactly what head football coach Joe Prince wanted, they grabbed the momentum early and never let up. The Devils scored on their first possession when #23 TJ James ran up the middle for a 61 yard touchdown. He followed that up next possession with another touchdown for 16 yards. Red Devils quarterback Nick Locker ran for two touchdowns and hit #17 Logan Blue for a 25 yard score.

Owensboro's defense played great the entire night only allowing 7 points and really frustrated the Lakers all night. Not to be out done, the Devils special teams got both a safety and touchdown thanks to two bad snaps from Calloway's punt team. The Red Devil's Tavian Board would get credit for the special team's touchdown, after he recovered the ball in the end zone.

Owensboro controlled the ground game racking up over 300 rushing yards. Coach Prince was proud how his team was the most aggressive tonight. He attributed success to preparation efforts, saying a "great week of practice... paid off" with the team's victory.

Friday night's win guarantees Owensboro will have a winning season. But with the way Owensboro is playing, it would be hard to imagine the Red Devils would lose the next two regular season games.
