OWENSBORO, Ky. (10/21/13) – The Owensboro Catholic versus Union County game this week was a clash of undefeated schools in district play. The game would decide the district title and home field advantage for the playoffs.
The Aces defeated the Braves 27 – 26 and stand alone at 4 – 0 in their district, 6 – 2 overall. With one district game remaining for Owensboro Catholic, even if they lose to McLean County this week, they will win the district since they own the tiebreaker.
With the loss, the Union County Braves move to 6 – 2, on the year and 3 – 1 in district play. They will travel to a struggling 0 – 8 Todd County Central team Oct.25.
