Aces Ready to Finish Strong

football helmet 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (10/24/13) - With Owensboro Catholic's 27 - 26 win Friday night against Union County, they placed themselves in the driver's seat for district championship. With a win this Friday against McLean County, the Aces will own their fourth consecutive district title.

Owensboro Catholic will travel to McLean County to take on the Cougars. Entering the game this week, the Aces are 6 - 2, while the Cougars are 3 - 5. The Cougars are struggling on both sides of the ball. The last two weeks they have been out-scored 100 - 12.

When SurfKY News asked Owensboro Catholic's head football coach, John Edge, about the keys to game this week he said, "We need to finish with a win. We want the dis-trict title out-right, we don't want to share it with anyone."

Catholic will be without senior wide receiver Joseph Mills, who is out with a shoulder injury. The Aces should handle the Cougars without him, but OC will need his production come playoff time.

The game will kick-off at 7p.m. Friday night.
