Pedley's Predictions Week 10

basic football5 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (10/25/13) - The games last week sent Owensboro Catholic and Daviess County in two totally different directions.

One team nailed down home field advantage while the other fell to 4 – 4. Catholic jumped out on Union County 27 - 0 at half time. Then Catholic held on for dear life, and then the Braves almost came back and tied the game. The Aces won the game 27 - 26 and took control of the district.

Meanwhile, Daviess County found out just how good McCracken County was losing 49 - 12. This week the Aces, Panthers, and Red Devils are all traveling. After going 1 - 1 last week, my record sitting strong at 11 – 5 on the year, so I am expecting great things this week.

Owensboro Red Devils 6 - 2 @ Hopkins County Central Storm 0 – 8.

Sometimes when solid teams like Owensboro travels to a struggling a team like Hopkins County, someone will pick the underdog to sneak up and win.

The underdog has nothing to lose and the stronger team could be overlooking the matchup. Not this week. Owensboro is coming off a bye week and head Coach, Joe Prince has the Devils focused.

The Storm has been outscored 30 - 305 and this week the scoring deferential will get worse. Owensboro has the best running game in town and Hopkins County will witness just that tonight. This game will not be close and it will end early. Figure on a running clock early in the third quarter.

Prediction: Owensboro will control all three phases of the game and win 51 - 0.

Daviess County Panthers 4 - 4 @ Marshall County Marshals 1 - 7

Could we have another blowout for a local team?

Daviess County has played the toughest schedule in the area, playing teams like South Warren, Henderson, and McCracken. While Coach Marcus Kimbrell wishes they went 3 - 0, he is proud how his team preformed against Henderson and McCracken County.

The weakness for DC this year is their inexperienced and undersized offensive and defensive lines. McCracken has three players going D-1 on their offensive line alone. It would make sense that they would struggle against the Mustangs.

Last week, Marshall County was on the wrong side of a thrashing by Henderson. Both the Panthers and the Marshals are looking to take out a little frustration. Bad news for Marshall County, the Panthers are fighting to get over .500 on the year. This game will slowly get out of reach for Marshall County; figure on high statistics for Daviess County.

Prediction: Daviess County play great football this week and will in 41 - 13.

Owensboro Catholic Aces 6 - 2 @ McLean County Cougars 3 – 5.

Can we have three blow outs this week? Is it possible that Owensboro, Daviess County, and Owensboro Catholic will go 3 - 0?

The Aces are at least promised a share of the District title after their victory over Union County. If they win tonight they have sole ownership of the title. Just like jealous children, Catholic does not want to share their championship with anyone.

Last Friday McLean County took a 57 - 6 beating from the Butler County Bears. The Aces are looking to finish the season out strong and gain some momentum. This game should not be close, so the Aces should show a killer mentality and finishing the game. Figure on four quarters from Owensboro Catholic.

Prediction: Owensboro will show great efficiency and will win 49 - 14.
