Owensboro-Daviess County Handles Highview, 7-4

baseball base 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (7/17/14) — The Owensboro-Daviess County 15U All-Stars notched a win in pool play of the Babe Ruth West Kentucky State Tournament Wednesday, defeating Highview 7-4.

Owensboro-Daviess County used a stout pitching effort to get past Highview and earn the win.

Pitcher Dylan Webb paced Owensboro-Daviess County. Webb tossed a one-hitter, registering a game-high 14 strikeouts en route to the victory.

Helping his pitching cause at the plate, Webb delivered a double for the Owensboro-Daviess County baseball team.

Webb also had plenty of help around him. The Owensboro-Daviess County batting order, from top to bottom, fared well

Pacing Owensboro-Daviess County offensively, Paul Basham and Brent Carwinkle were both 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Aiding the Owensboro-Daviess County offensive effort, John Gibson added two runs, two RBIs and a double.

Another Owensboro-Daviess County batter, Jacob Wethington, also stayed active at the plate.

Wethington added a two-RBI double for Owensboro-Daviess County in the victory.
