baseball-bat-glv-ballLOUISVILLE, Ky. (7/18/14) — The Owensboro-Daviess County 13U All-Stars edged Elizabethtown 2-1 in a pool play game at Louisville Thursday night.

Owensboro-Daviess County landed in the win column after dropping a game to Western Louisville one day earlier.

Zach Hardesty pitched a one-hitter over six innings to lift Owensboro-Daviess County to the win against Elizabethtown.

Colin Carpenter notched the save for the Owensboro-Daviess County baseball team.

Owensboro-Daviess County plated two runs on five hits.

Noah Stewart led the Owensboro-Daviess County offensive charge. Stewart went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

ODC, however, struggled to score runs in its first game on Wednesday night as Western Louisville pulled away to win 9-1.

Western Louisville 9, Owensboro-Daviess County 1: Owensboro-Daviess County encountered a hot-hitting Western Louisville squad on Wednesday night in Louisville. Western Louisville used multiple big innings to defeat Owensboro-Daviess County 9-1.

Owensboro-Daviess County pitcher Jakob Helms suffered the loss. Helms pitched five innings, registering seven strikeouts in the short effort.

The ODC baseball club struggled defensively, committing eight errors in the loss.
