baseball-base-2OWENSBORO, Ky. (7/18/14) — The Owensboro-Daviess County All-Stars earned the No. 1 seed in its pool in the Babe Ruth Baseball 14U West State Tournament at Brandenburg Thursday night, thanks to a 13-0 win in five innings over Jeffersontown.

On Wednesday, Owensboro-Daviess County outlasted Logan County 7-5.

Three Owensboro-Daviess County pitchers combined to hold Jeffersontown to only one hit.

Owensboro-Daviess County hurler Sam Hein earned the win.

Aiding the Owensboro-Daviess County pitching cause, relievers Will Davis and Jake Hansen also worked innings in the winning effort.

Offensively, Griffin Haire and Dakota Dull delivered two RBIs apiece for Owensboro-Daviess County. Excelling on the basepaths, Dull, Blain Gillim and Luke Hayden scored two runs each.

At the plate, Gillim led Owensboro-Daviess County with two triples. Garrett Wilson (triple), Blake Barker (triple) and Max Rafferty (double) also provided extra base hit hits for the Owensboro-Daviess County baseball team in the win.

Owensboro-Daviess County 7, Logan County 5: Owensboro-Daviess County won its first pool play game in the Babe Ruth Baseball 14U West State Tournament on Wednesday, topping Logan County 7-5.

On the hill, Owensboro-Daviess County pitcher Cameron Nichols earned the win.

Determined Owensboro-Daviess County featured multiple offensive leaders. Blain Gillim legged out a triple and drove in two runs for Owensboro-Daviess County in the victory.

Offensively for ODC, Griffin Hair, Peyton Peters and Luke Hayden provided two hits each including one double apiece,

Logan County picked up the loss despite faring very well both offensively and defensively in various innings.
