surf sports blue 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (7/29/14) — Owensboro-Daviess County finished runner-up in the 14U Babe Ruth Baseball Ohio Valley Regional Tournament at Henderson Sunday.

Southeast Lexington edged Owensboro-Daviess County 6-5 in eight innings to prevail in the championship game.

Nick Blair was 3-for-4 at the plate in Owensboro-Daviess County's final tournament game.

Earlier in the tournament, Owensboro-Daviess County, under the guidance of manager Todd Wilson, notched wins over Geurnsey Valley, Ohio, Janesville, Wis. and Crown Point, Ind.

Owensboro-Daviess County 12, Geurnsey Valley Ohio 11: Owensboro-Daviess County battled back to edge Geurnsey Valley, Ohio 12-11 in the semifinals Sunday.

At the plate for ODC, Dakota Dull smacked a three-run home run.

Owensboro-Daviess County pitcher Blaine Gillim earned the win.

Owensboro-Daviess County 8, Janesville, Wis. 5: Zach Gledhill went 3-for-5 at the plate to pace Owensboro-Daviess County in an 8-5 victory over Janesville, Wis. in the quarterfinals Saturday.

Owensboro-Daviess County pitcher Griffin Haire earned the win. Helping his cause at the plate, Haire also doubled and singled for the Owensboro-Daviess County baseball club.

Blaine Gillim, Nick Blair and Max Rafferty added two hits apiece for ODC in the victory.

Owensboro-Daviess County 13, Crown Point, Ind. 2: Dakota Dull belted a two-run homer and Will Davis earned the win on the mound as Owensboro-Daviess County downed Crown Point, Ind. 13-2 in five innings in an opening round game Saturday.

Owensboro-Daviess County took an early lead and never faltered in the tournament matchup.
