KENTUCKY – Hello again folks! I hope you are having a blessed week. We have been blessed with some beautiful weather but we do need some rain. The farmers seem to be getting their fields planted but everything is so dry at this point in the year.
I noticed the water levels on Lake Beshear seemed to be low on Saturday. Turkey season is winding down here in KY and the birds have been very stubborn this year. Curious to see the final harvest report for the Spring season. I am ready to go head to head with the Bass of Western Ky.
We had a tough day of fishing on Saturday. Sportsmen for Christ held their first fishing tournament fundraiser down at Lake Beshear in Dawson Springs, KY. Congrats goes out to Mr. Mickey Demoss and Kaleb Tipett on winning first place with 15 lbs. and 8 ounces. Following in the second place position was Kenny Starks and Sid Pryor with a catch total of 14 lbs. and 15 ounces. Kenny also won the big bass money pot with a nice fish weighing in at 4 lbs. and 11 ounces. The money raised during this event will help us introduce folks into God's great Outdoors and introduce them to God.
Our next fundraiser tournament will be June 9th and 10th at Lake Beshear. The tournament starts at 8:00 pm and ends at 4: 00 am. The money raised at this tournament will all go to the Hopkins County JerryO WTTL Toy Drive. We are excited about helping the radio station with Christmas for kids across the county. We had a booth set up at Walmart in Madisonville last year during the opening day of rifle season. We had great results and plan on doing it again this year. We will also be assisting Walmart in the Take a Kid Fishing event this June on the 23rd. Please keep these dates posted and I will be reminding you of all the events as they approach.
Sportsmen for Christ is looking to have a great year. I also would like to say a Huge Thank You for the anonymous donation. It was greatly appreciated and helped in an enormous way. God Bless until next week, be safe and God bless.
