WHITESVILLE, Ky. — Whitesville Elementary launched its health and fitness program yesterday after receiving a grant from Baptist Health in Madisonville.

WES held an Opening Day Celebration which served as a dedication and demonstration of its new fitness equipment. The grant from Baptist Health enabled the school to implement the Project Fit America program. Project Fit America provided the school with indoor and outdoor fitness equipment, curriculum and on-site teacher training. WES encourages the whole community to use the outdoor fitness equipment.

Representatives from Baptist Health were on hand for the for celebration and Rep. Tommy Thompson spoke to those in attendance and presented a legislative citation to the school.
